Plans for the Future For the last six years, the Foundation's emphasis has been on growing the audience for Meaford Hall by presenting events in Meaford Hall that the Hall was unable to present itself. Going forward, the Foundation's focus will be in four main areas: Learning Programs Based on the results of the Feasibility Study conducted in 2010 on "The Academy" and on the success of MYFilmStudio, we are confident that there is a genuine demand for learning programs through which people of all ages can learn to be involved in the arts. We will gradually increase the number of learning programs available to the community, both by presenting them ourselves and by sponsoring artist instructors who wish to present their own programs. Programming We will continue to present signature events, such as the Meaford International Film Festival and the Christmas Celebration. In addition, we will work with the Hall to build audiences in new areas. For example, we presented Driving Miss Daisy in 2010, making it possible for the Hall to present its own program of professional theatre in 2011 and 2012. Investing in Meaford Hall We will continue to invest in capital projects that further develop the instrastructure and technical capabilities of Meaford Hall. Further, we will act as the sponsorship agent for the Hall. Because of the size of our community, there is a limited pool of businesses who can act as sponsors for events at Meaford Hall. To avoid confusion and overlap, it makes sense for the Foundation to solicit sponsorship funding on behalf of the Hall. Investing in the community We will continue to sponsor other community groups who are presenting their own events. For example, we have sponsored community theatre, Dragons’ Den Meaford, summer drama camp and many more. |
